Imagine what Johnson Lane would look like if it were among the best managed communities in Douglas County!  

Imagine what it would feel like to live in such a community.  The roads could be improved and maintained better than they've ever been.  Improvements could be made to eliminate the drainage issues this area faced in 2014 and which our community is still is at risk of.  Imagine your property tax funds staying in and helping the Johnson Lane community (JLC) and meeting the needs of its residents.  Imagine JLC residents being able to focus on helping JLC.

These are some of the reasons a few residents decided to study the pros and cons of asking the County Commissioners to approve the Johnson Lane community (JLC) taking care of itself.

The JLC is certainly large enough, as it's larger than the Town of Minden and the Town of Genoa. And JLC is larger than the GIDs of Indian Hills and most of the many other of the 24 GIDs or Chapter 318 districts in Douglas County.

If the County Commissioners were to approve this, it would put JLC in a solid position to guide far more of its own destiny and be a master of much more of its fate!
